About the Owner
Casey Key Fish House owner James Peter Von Hubertz came to Florida from Long Island in 1989. He first developed properties on Long Boat Key. After that, he renovated and leased seven cottages on Lido Key, then purchased Anchor Down on South Siesta Key – an “Old Florida” Resort.
Jimmy moved here loving the weather and “Old Florida” feel, and that’s what he always pursued. He found the property at 801 Blackburn Point and purchased it in 1999. He initially closed the property to completely renovate it. Improvements consisted of totally renovating the kitchen, bathroom, and dining room areas, as well as converting from septic to sewer to be more environmentally friendly. The authentic Tiki Bar was built right next to the last of its kind “swing bridge” on North Casey Key.
Today, Casey Key Fish House is one of the last “Old Florida” waterfront restaurants with deep water dockage right on the inter-coastal and next to the historical Blackburn Point Swing Bridge.
We are very unique in that every seat has a water view, and the dining room is over the water. Our great food is moderately priced. Come for the food and enjoy the view, too! With 200 feet of deep water dockage, you can get to the restaurant by car or in your boat . Also, if you’re on the adventurous side, there are on-site rentals of jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing charters, and boat rentals, too!
